a 3hr discussion (including food, yum!) ABOUT THE INS AND OUTS OF WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

Topics may include, but are not limited to

  • Starting to book weddings.

I know, it’s hard, especially when there’s a lot of competition around your area, but what is going to make YOU stand out? How are YOU going to book, market, build a client experience! I’ll be discussing some huge tips and tricks on booking your FIRST wedding!

  • Receiving inquiries

You get the email, now what? This is the first impression! Typing up the perfect response is SO important! I’ll be going over the Do’s and Dont’s and what’s going to make a client choose YOU.

  • Working with different lighting and editing tips

Not all weddings happen during sunset. Learning how to work with all types of lighting is the first thing you’re going to want to learn when you start taking on weddings.

  • My workflow. Beginning, middle and end

It took me forever to get the perfect workflow down and I’m so excited to share everything about it, from investment guide, consultations, contract, engagement session, gallery views, invoices, questionnaires, shot list, timeline, culling the wedding, etc. I’m going to share ALL of it!!

  • Managing Systems

Oh gosh, I can’t even begin to describe how horrible I kept everything organized when I first started, it’s literally embarrassing but it’s part of the learning process. I now use Dubsado and sharing why I chose that route rather than other systems!

  • Day-of flow

From getting ready, first look, ceremony, family shots, couple portraits, reception and everything in between! What to expect on a full 8hr wedding!

  • Gear

The best gear to photograph weddings! What I started, what I have now and why.

  • Pricing yourself

This was the hardest thing to do when I was first starting out. I have a TON of things to say about this subject, a ton!! First and foremost we’re going to talk about valuing yourself and your time. Going into details about packages, presenting your prices to clients, investment guides, etc!

  • Social Media & Marketing

Marketing is probably going to be 80% of what you’re doing, how you choose to market will determine what kind of clients you’re going to get. Instagram should not be the only marketing source. We’ll also be chatting about Wedding Wire, The Knot, Junebug, etc!

  • Q & A

Got a question? Ask away!! These subjects are just the surface! We have 3 hours to get through so much goodness!
