Nicole& Simon | Colorful Dreamy Wedding in Canada’s Most Beautiful Venue

I have to admit, there’s something so incredibly refreshing about a bride and groom who don’t shy away from COLOR! Of course I always love traditional pastel bridal tones, but seeing a bright and bold color palette never fails to put a smile on my face, so it’s easy to imagine that I obviously had a smile the entire time I photographed Nicole & Simon’s Canadian wedding.

This was the first time I’ve ever photographed a wedding out of the country, and I have to say fate couldn’t have picked a better couple for this experience. I met Nicole and Simon because of a hashtag of all things! I saw their engagement picture and wished them congratulations because I thought they were the cutest couple ever, which they are, and they ended up wanting to work with me. It was such a blessing!

The wedding was held at the Madsens Gardens in Toronto, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a venue that was more beautiful. That, combined with the fact that Nicole is an incredibly talented event designer means this wedding was something you would see in a bridal magazine, it was absolute perfection. 

Of course, I need to mention all of Nicole’s bridesmaids and the team at Pop Up Chapel who made this wedding run like an absolute dream. They all pitched in to help bring Nicole’s vision to life, it was so smooth and there was no detail overlooked. Everything from the food and dessert bar, to the group photos and timeline…. *chefs kiss* The menus at each guest's place setting had 3-Dimensional details and the seating chart almost floated in mid-air as the hexagon tiles hung from a tree in the reception space. And can we talk about Simon’s emerald green suit? A standout look for the groom is always a good idea in my book.

I was lucky enough to get to Toronto, Canada two days before their wedding and explore a bit. It’s times like these that I have to pinch myself because it’s honestly hard to believe how incredible my life is as a destination wedding photographer. Not only does it enable me to visit some crazy places, but I get to meet and build relationships with the loveliest people in the world.
