A LOOK INTO A BEAUTIFUL YOSEMITE CHAPEL WINTER ELOPEMENT

The newlyweds share a celebratory embrace in front of the charming Yosemite Chapel. We continued with portraits surrounded by snowy perfection.❄️

Sweet Vow Exchange In The Historic Yosemite Valley Chapel

Grab your tissues, because I’m sharing the heart-melting elopement photos ever! As your Yosemite wedding photographer, I swear I get teary-eyed with every single love story I capture. But witnessing a couple start their forever amidst a snowy Yosemite adventure? Utterly precious, you guys! It’s seriously my favorite thing ever! I hope you enjoy and find wedding inspiration these portraits. They were totally a moment meant to be, I’m obsessed!

That classic reddish-brown Carpenter Gothic design, with its sweet little pointed tip, nestled all cozy against the dramatic winter landscape? Pure magic! The historic Yosemite Valley Chapel is everything. The chapel books up quickly, so be sure to grab your permit far in advance! (Read here on my how to apply for Yosemite wedding permit). Every single photo of every couple in front of this iconic place captures a piece of timeless beauty. It's just... perfect!"

A Winter Wonderland Dream with Snowy Portraits and Scenery

Being a local Yosemite wedding photographer totally pays off! When a winter storm decided to dump tons of snow right at the start of our portrait session, my local instincts kicked in! Navigating those closures, driving in the snow (check!), and having a solid backup plan (check! check!), I was like, 'I got this!'.

We had pounds of snow covering those towering pines, snow-dusted cliffs, frozen waterfalls, quiet meadows, and the softest winter glow you’ve ever seen! This scene was pristine, dramatic, and uniquely theirs!

We decided to just let the storm pass and move the portraits to the next day… and WOW, was it worth the wait! The next morning, Yosemite literally transformed into a real-life winter wonderland! It was all sorts of MAGICAL! ✨❄️

Even though Lacey and Jared's day-after wedding portraits were not originally planned, it's actually a great idea that I often recommend! Day-after portraits allow you to keep the celebration going without the stress and rush of the wedding day itself. Instead of squeezing photos between the ceremony and reception, you get to truly relax and enjoy time with your guests.

The best part? You gain flexibility and variety. Especially in a place like Yosemite, you can pick a totally different backdrop. You can explore somewhere more adventurous or take a short hike without worrying about keeping your dress pristine.

It’s the ultimate way to relive the magic and cap off your wedding weekend with beautiful, stress-free memories!
