3:00 PM: Larissa & Wyatt had their intimate wedding ceremony surrounded by their closest family members, with the beautiful Yosemite scenery all around them.
When Larissa & Wyatt reached out, they knew they wanted an intimate ceremony with a little more privacy and a less crowded setting if possible. I knew Cascades Picnic Area would be a beautiful fit for what they were envisioning!

What to Do After Your Yosemite wedding Ceremony
3:15ā4:30 PM: For Larissa & Wyattās day, we used this time for family photos, cake cutting, and couple portraits around Cascades Picnic Area.
Cut your wedding cake in the forest: I know a quiet spot surrounded by pine trees for a sweet, intimate cake-cutting moment. This featured couples cake was from @thecupcakeroute. My mom made them the yummiest cake!
Celebrate with champagne or a picnic: Bring a small picnic setup with champagne, florals, fruit, or your favorite treats. I can also help with vendor recommendations if youād like!
Take family photos: We can set aside time for family portraits while everyone is together!
Capture candid moments: Iāll capture the hugs, laughs, and little moments with your closest friends and family after the ceremony!
Taft Point Wedding Photos: What to Expect From the Hike
4:45 PMā5:45 PM: We traveled to Taft Point and arrived at the trailhead!
6:00 PM: We began the hike to Taft Point, walking through the forest and crossing a couple of small bridges. As the views started to open up, we stopped along the trail for some beautiful couple portraits!
8:00 PM: This is when the magic really starts! As the sun begins to set around this time in June, I begin capturing the coupleās wedding portraits with those incredible Yosemite views!
8:45 PM -9:00 PM We started to wrap up at the top of Taft Point and made our way back to the trailhead and our cars!
The Taft point Hike Details
Distance: 2.2 miles round trip with minimal elevation gain, making it a beginner-friendly hike.
Access & Parking: No worries here! Iāll guide you on exactly where to park and where to start the trail.
Dogs: Dogs are not allowed on the Taft Point trail.

How many guest are allowed at cascades picnic area?
Cascades Picnic Area allows up to 30 guests, making it a great option for an intimate Yosemite wedding ceremony with your closest family and friends.
What are the parking and permits for a ceremony at casdes picnuc area?
Parking at Cascades Picnic Area is limited to 8 vehicles, so I highly recommend carpooling with your guests. Not only does it make parking easier, but it also keeps the experience feeling more intimate and relaxed!
A $150 Special Use Permit from the National Park Service is required for ceremonies at this location and must be submitted at least 21 days in advance.

- OMG, YES! š Taft Point at sunset is absolutely worth it. The views are incredible, and these are the kind of wedding photos youāll look back on and cherish forever. Every couple Iāve photographed at Taft Point has been in awe of the views and the experience. I mean, just look at the photo below!

āOur experience with Priscilla was an absolute dream! Our little wedding ceremony with our families was perfect. We took family photos after and then took off for photos in the meadows, forest trails, and Taft point. She made sure we got photos in all of the best locations, even with small crowds in the area.
